FITNESS CRAZE: BARRE CLASS

Working out can feel like a chore and we are always on the hunt for a new fitness trend to keep things fun whilst getting our summer bods ready!

I’ve always wanted to be a ballerina but never liked the idea of the feet-destroying slippers! Well, now we can have the best of both worlds where we can get fit, have fun and still be a wanna-be ballerina (without the tutu!).

We’ve recently discovered a group fitness class called “Barre Fitness” or “Dance Barre”, which is fast coming a fitness craze.

Barre is ballet-inspired workouts that use the ‘ballet barre’ (hence where the name is from), and is a dynamic mix of dance, Pilates and fitness. It will almost feel like you’re not even working out at all! Don't be worried if you've never done anything ballet, because the best thing about these classes is they are for all fitness levels!

STYLE SPOTLIGHT: NYFW STREET STYLE

New York Fashion week is soon coming to an end and its safe to say we have some serious street-style envy: we saw a lot of beading, oversized button up shirts, feminine dresses paired with sneakers, and the new off shoulder trend that we saw grace the runway.

We’ve put a collection of fashion forward outfits we loved (and want) hot off the streets of New York!

Age Is Nothing But a Number

50 is the new 25 and there are more and more celebrities proving that age is just a number. Whether it comes down to good genes, a great plastic surgeon or simple healthy habits, some woman can work their age. With the recent awards nights, Met Ball and Logies, these women are still proving they have what it takes to outshine the younger ones.

Boho Festival Camping

Festival season is well under way and that means camping! It usually is a very unfashionable time that involves a lot of mud, dirt and mess! Well we have decided this year we are going to dress up our campsites boho style and here are some tip we have for you to do the same. Bring some fake plants to add life, colourful rugs and sheets to hang up, lots and lots of cute cushions and pillows, candles and then finally good vibes.

Best Met Ball Party Pics!

This year's Met Ball is here and we are loving the fashion that has come with it. The Ball has become on of the most watches, and envied, events of all time! What we are also looking forward to is the after-party and behind the scenes shots! Here are some past celebratory shots from inside Met Galas from the past!

Black is the new pink

This week saw some of the hottest celebs strut their stuff down the red carpet for the 2016 MTV Music Awards, and while many stars opted for a traditional backless Balenciaga or Erdem gown, some of the biggest names to hit Hollywood challenged tradition and choose to show their fierce side and go black. But these women are definitely slaying it on the red carpet!

Holy grail of tanning

We all know that there is a widespread belief that self-tan products make you look orange! Now by no means are we suggesting that none of them ever will make you appear in this way, BUT by choosing self-tanners suitable for your skin tones, and using correct application techniques your fears of looking like an oompa loompa will no longer exist!

Our sunless tanning winners are:

  1. Bondi Sands Self Tanning foam – the perfect lightweight tan, enriched with aloe vera and coconut
  2.  Loving Tan 2HR express tanning mousse – For us time poor individuals, this tan applies smoothly and dries quickly, developing in only 2 hours!
  3. St Tropez Self tan bronzing mousse – For a long lasting, smooth tan, designed to appear 2-3 shades darker than your natural tone
  4. Clarins Self Tanning Instant Gel – Ideal if you desire a subtle golden colour! This product is non-oily and quick drying.

Entering into the summer months we all want that summer, flawless glow, without having to lie out in the sun for hours or appearing like a streaky mess. For best results here are a few tips on how to tan like an expert:

  1. Exfoliate and shave before you let self-tanner anywhere near your body. Use a mild exfoliant to make sure you're sloughing off your dead skin cells before the self-tanner goes on.
  2. Stand between two mirrors to apply the self-tanner, so you can see exactly what you're doing.
  3. Be extra mindful of the knees, hands, elbows, feet, ankles and face. These are the areas where self-tanning mistakes show up most. Use a minimal amount of tanning lotion in these areas, and consider wearing latex gloves or a tanning mitt to apply it.
  4. Once you've applied your self-tanner, keeping your skin hydrated is the key to making it last. Apply lotion daily.

How Carrie Bradshaw changed fashion

Can you believe it’s been 17 years since Sex and the City first aired on our televisions? As inspiration to thousands and thousands of women around the world, Charlotte, Miranda, Samantha and Carrie paved the way to a fashion revolution.

Sex and the City was one of the first shows to portray women in their own form. Feminine, masculine, sexy, fun – you name it, they did it!

Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker was paramount in starting multiple fashion crazes around the world. Carrie’s fashion boundaries were limitless and some of her outfits definitely made you cringe, yet with her quirky sense of fashion and her obsession with shoes she always pulled it off and her sense of style became a huge feature of the series!

Here are some of our very favourite Carrie Bradshaw trends which the fashion world ate up:
